Q. Is Women Entrepreneurs of Charleston a networking group?

A. No, we are a community platform that connects women entrepreneurs to women experts through monthly live and virtual events. Attendees learn next-level business concepts they can apply to their business the very next day.

Q. What dates in 2019 are available to speak?

A. Typically, we host events on Thursday evenings (5:30 PM EST) and Friday mornings (9:30 AM EST), but we can make exceptions to accommodate your schedule.

Q. Do I have to be a member to speak at an event? 

A. While membership is not required to speak at an event, membership is highly encouraged in order to build a sustaining relationship within our community. Many teaching and mentorship opportunities occur organically through your participation as a member.

Q. How long should my talk be?

A. We recommend 45 minutes of content. It is highly encouraged that you begin delivering value from minute 1, we will handle introductions for you.

Q. Are events live or virtual?

A. We host both live and virtual events, which is determined based on the content and speaker location. 

Q. Are your events open to the public?

A. Yes, while our members receive free/discounted tickets to our events, guests have the option to purchase tickets.

  • Member Meetings (hosted 1x/quarter) are for members only. A limited number of guest tickets are sold to women wanting to learn more about us before joining.

  • WEofC Workshops are held monthly and are available to the public. Members receive a $10 discount to all WEofC Workshops.

Q. Are events recorded?

A. All virtual events are recorded and made available to ticket holders 48-hours following the event. You are welcome to use your recording in any capacity following the event.

Q. Am I responsible for promoting my event?

A. We promote all events on your behalf, but we will tag you so that you can share and promote the event to your networks.

Q. Are speakers paid?

A. No, all speakers donate their time in exchange for:

  • Promotion of their person / company across our network

  • Access to the attendee email list for a 1x communication (we ask that you do not add our members to your regular newsletter since they did not directly opt-in)

  • Professional photography / video of the event (if applicable) that you can use on your own behalf

Q. Do I have to own a business to apply?

A. Yes, members must have their legal entity (LLC, Corporation, etc) established before they can apply and must be at least 51% owner. We are structured to support women who are actively running a business.
